Privacy and cookie statement

For a move you trust us with your address, your phone number and everything you own. Below you can read exactly which details we use for that, why, how long we keep them and what you can ask of us. No legal fog, just plain language.

Who we are

Westland Verhuisgroep, Fultonstraat 11H, 2691 HA 's-Gravenzande, the Netherlands, is responsible for the processing of your personal data as described on this page.

What we collect

When you request a quote. Your name, phone number, e-mail address, the address you are moving from and the one you are moving to, your preferred moving date and whatever else you write in the comments field.

When we visit you for a survey. Details about the home and its contents: the volume in cubic metres, the floor you live on, the staircase, whether a moving lift is needed, special items such as a piano, and what does and does not come along.

When you become a customer. The details from the quote and the survey, plus the arrangements for the move itself and what we need to invoice you.

When you call or e-mail us. The content of that contact and your details, so the colleague you speak to next time knows what it was about.

When you visit our website. Your IP address and technical details of your visit end up in our web server log. We also place advertising cookies, but only if you consent. More on that below.

Why we use it

  • To send you a quote and carry out the move. Without an address and a phone number we cannot visit or plan. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you, and the steps leading up to it.
  • To invoice you and keep our books. Legal basis: a legal obligation.
  • To improve our service and to prevent abuse of the form. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a working, secure business.
  • To measure which adverts lead to a quote request. Legal basis: your consent.

How long we keep it

  • Quote requests that do not lead to a booking: two years, so we recognise you if you move after all
  • Completed jobs, invoices and the related administration: seven years, as Dutch tax law requires
  • E-mail and phone contact: as long as needed for the service, and at most two years after that
  • Web server logs: at most six months
  • Your cookie choice: it stays in your own browser until you erase or withdraw it

Who we share it with

We do not sell your details and we do not pass them on for anyone else's advertising. We share them only with parties that help us deliver the service:

  • Our hosting provider, where the website and the requests are stored
  • Our own moving database, which holds the quote, the planning and the invoicing
  • Google, for advertising measurement — only if you have given consent
  • Fellow moving companies, where we carry out a move together with or through a partner. They receive only what they need to do the job
  • Our accountant, for the financial administration

We make agreements with these parties about how they handle your data. Beyond that we only disclose data where the law requires it.

Transfers outside Europe

If you consent to advertising cookies, data about your visit may reach Google, which also uses servers outside the European Union. Google participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, under which the European Commission has established an adequate level of protection. If you do not consent, this transfer does not take place.

Cookies

We use as few cookies as possible. In practice it comes down to two things.

Remembering your own choice. When you click accept or refuse on the bar at the bottom of the site, we store that in your browser. It contains no personal data and it keeps us from asking you again on every page.

Google advertising cookies. We advertise on Google and want to know which advert actually leads to a quote request. Google places a cookie for that. This only happens after you click accept. If you refuse, or do nothing, that cookie is not placed and Google measures at most an anonymous estimate in which you are not identifiable.

Changed your mind? Click here to make your cookie choice again. The bar reappears and your earlier choice is cleared.

How we protect your data

The website and the request form run over a secure connection. The moving database that holds your quote and planning is protected with a personal account for each member of staff. We only give access to colleagues who need the data for their work.

Your rights

You may always ask us to:

  • tell you what data we hold about you, and give you a copy
  • correct anything that is wrong
  • delete data, as far as we are not legally required to keep it
  • restrict our use of it, or object to it
  • transfer your data to another party
  • withdraw consent you have given

Send your request to info@westlandverhuisgroep.nl. We reply within one month. To avoid handing data to the wrong person, we may ask you to identify yourself.

If you disagree with how we handle your data, we would rather hear it from you first. You also always have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Changes

If the way we handle data changes, we update this statement. This version is dated 24 August 2026.
