High-rise, walk-ups and tight parking: this is how Rotterdam moves
Rotterdam moves differently from Westland. In Kralingen, Blijdorp and Hillegersberg there are many walk-up apartments and flats with narrow stairwells. There we place our moving lift (furniture hoist) against the façade, so that wardrobes and sofas don't have to go through the stairwell.
On the Kop van Zuid and in Katendrecht it's often newer apartment complexes with a lift. We check in advance whether the lift needs to be reserved with the owners' association (VvE) or the building manager, and what will and won't fit in it.
In the busy city centre, parking space for a moving truck is scarce. We apply for a temporary parking exemption or parking ban for moving day on your behalf, so that the truck and the lift can stand right outside your door.
